The onset of Autumn

Yesterday was a beautiful late September day in Henley. Whilst out for a walk with my partner, she definitively told me that autumn is her favourite season. One of the things that I love about autumn is the incredible array of smells to be found in the countryside. Decaying leaves, damp air and earthy, musky aromas pervade the senses. For some reason it always makes me crave mature wines from Bordeaux. I love long summer evenings, but there is something very comforting about the onset of autumn (and the thought of all that claret.)
